A RECENT TRENDS ON NANOTHERANOSTICS: AN OVERVIEW

Theranostics is a field of medicine that combines diagnostics and therapeutics to diagnose and treat diseases simultaneously. In addition to determining targeted drug delivery, it also assesses drug efficacy in a non-invasive manner. Delivering a therapeutic dose in a targeted manner reduces both the therapeutic dose and the side effects associated with it. Cancer, inflammatory diseases, and infections have already been treated with theranostic approaches. However, nanotechnology can be used for theranostics. Nanoparticles may be useful as a basis for personalized medicine because of certain unique properties. Nano-theranostics is based on the premise that early diagnosis can promote cure, i.e. identifying diseases before symptoms appear. We discuss recent developments in nanotechnology and their applications in this review article
