In this work, we designed and developed a hydrodynamically balanced tablet of cefuroxime axetil to boost its bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy. Cefuroxime axetil belongs to the second generation of cephalosporin antibiotics and beta-lactum antibiotics. A direct compression method is used to prepare tablets. HPMC K15 M is the polymers used in direct compression, and Sodium alginate is used as a Mass increasing agent. Magnesium Stearate has been used as Lubricant. Using a dissolution apparatus with 0.1N Hcl as a medium, the formulation was evaluated in vitro for byoyancy and drug release studies. Based on the results of these studies, floating tablets containing 60 milligrams of HPMC K15 M and cefuroxime axetil are shown to provide a better option for controlling release and improving bioavailabilit
