synthetic lip products apparently due to increased consumer preference to natural, eco-friendly and health-conscious cosmetics.
Not only are they highly pigmented and long-wearing, these lipsticks are made with plant-based ingredients-- like Alkanet,
Beetroot and Hibiscus-- which are hydrating, antioxidant protecting and anti-inflammatory in nature. One such ingredient is
alkanet extract, which has dark red to purple tint and is known to generate overall skin health of the lips. This paper is a survey
of the development and benefits of herbal lipsticks along with their non-toxicity, moisturizing effects, and the production
processes which are eco-friendly. It also talks about challenges of herbal lipsticks such as poor variety of colors and
complications of extracting natural pigments. Herbal lipsticks are likely to be an important aspect in the future of the cosmetic
market as more consumers develop interest in clean beauty and sustainability. Ethical sourcing, biodegradable packaging, ecofriendly manufacturing methods also make the products better correspond with the current environmental sustainabilityconscious consumers and indicate a promising alternative to current cosmetic products.
<Email>Rajalingam@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Review</articletype><volume>15</volume><issue>2</issue><year>2025</year><keyword>Herbal Lipsticks, Alkanet Extract, Natural Pigments, Sustainable Cosmetics, Clean Beauty, Green Packages</keyword><AUTHORS>Surya Chinnathambi, Sridhar Udhayakumar,Vasudevan Mahadevan, Jamuna Sadayapillai, Mullaikodi Olivanan, Dr. Rajalingam D</AUTHORS><afflication>Kamalakahi pandurangan college of pharmacy, Tiruvannamalai Dt, Tamil Nadu, India,Kamalakahi pandurangan college of pharmacy, Tiruvannamalai Dt, Tamil Nadu, India</afflication></Article></Articles>
