182PHYSICAL, ANTIOXIDANT, PROPERTIES OF A MULTIPURPOSE HERBAL FORMULATION AND EVALUAIONIn this study, a combination of Allium cepa (Onion), Zingiberofficinale (Ginger), Allium sativum (Garlic), Aloe vera, Andrographispaniculata (King of Bitters) and Allium ascalonicum (Shallot) was evaluated. The main aim was to assess the formula’s chemical, physical and phytochemical aspects. The herbal formulationwas evaluated using visual and organoleptic methods, thin-layer chromatography (TLC), pH measurement, trace element analysis, screening for phytochemicals, observing antioxidant activity with the DPPH assay and checks for total phenolic acid (TPA) content. An analysis by TLC found at least three areas present. Trace elements Pb, Cd, Fe and Zn were found to be within acceptable levels at 0.053, 0.003, 1.190 and 4.190 mg/L, respectively. It was confirmed through phytochemical screening that anthraquinones, tannins, terpenoids,saponins (2.12% w/w), alkaloids (2.45% w/w) and flavonoids (49.45% w/w) were present in the plant. According to the DPPH assay, the antioxidant activity was low and the corresponding IC?? was 2646.82 ± 58.24 µg/mL.
